LWR SCHOOL KITS
READY: it is again time for our annual collection of school supplies for the Lutheran World Relief school kits! These kits will go to children/students all over the world, and sometimes the kits are the only reason a child can attend school.
SET: the supplies we need usually go on deep sale in July and August in preparation for the beginning of the new school year in our area. FYI – sales are often the best at Walmart and Staples stores. What do we need for each kit?
1. 5 NON-GEL blue or black ball-point pens
2. 5 UNSHARPENED pencils
3. 4 – 70-page, one-subject, spiral-bound notebooks.
Either college or wide-ruled varieties are fine
4. one blunt-tipped scissor
5. one pink eraser
6. one ruler marked with inches and centimeters
7. one 16 or 24-crayon box of crayons –
preferably Crayola’s
8. one pencil sharpener
9. one back-pack to put the supplies in.
Back-packs will be assembled by WELCA members.
Anyone who would like to help sew these back-packs can call Ann Taylor at 208 289-3481.
GO! Purchased supplies can be left on the table in the overflow room at church. If you cannot or don’t like to shop, donations for the kits can be given to Mary Abitz (make out checks to WELCA) and we will be happy to spend the money for you.
