WELCA

Purpose Statement:
 As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

Workdays:
Workdays are on Wednesdays of most months. Members usually arrive around 9am and stay till 2:30ish. Everyone brings their own lunch and enjoys visiting during break time. Projects the members work on during work days include sewing and binding Lutheran World Relief Quilts, collecting items for LWR Health Kits, Baby Kits, School Kits, and Fabric kits. Several ladies make and hand quilt a quilt to be auctioned at the annual Bazaar each October. The Bazaar is WELCA’s annual fundraiser and includes a homemade turkey dinner with all the trimmings and an auction of many handmade items. WELCA members also prepare food for church functions and funerals. Business meetings are the 1st Sunday of each month after worship service.
